Michael G. Mourelatos
Director, NCC/IO Engineering Solutions

Mr. Michael Mourelatos joined PROTEUS in 2004 as a Senior Software Engineer and is now the Net Centric Capabilities and Information Operations (NCC/IO) SIGINT Engineering Director. In this role, Mourelatos is responsible for the support and expansion of PROTEUS' Engineering Services with a primary focus on mentoring and fostering the professional growth of the engineering staff. Day-to-day, Mourelatos oversees development and tasking for several key DoD intelligence program initiatives in fulfilling the Agency’s mission.

Mourelatos brings a wealth of software development and architecture design experience to the company, with a particular focus on distributed computing, web development and predictive modeling.

Mourelatos earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and pursued graduate studies in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine. While pursuing advanced studies in medicine, Mr. Mourelatos became very intrigued in the use of computers and computer software design for modeling disease and dysfunction. Mourelatos served four years with the U.S. Navy as an advanced Hospital Corpsman. His training in medicine allowed Mourelatos to become a young researcher for the US Navy, where he conducted research studying cardiovascular anomalies during hypovolemic and septic shock episodes.

In his spare time, Mourelatos enjoys coaching his kids in soccer and baseball. His personal passion is to make repeated attempts to consistently drive golf balls more than 100 yards in the air without a shoulder injury.
