PROTEUS Technologies Announces
New DoD Contract Wins
![]()
Secures competitive wins in excess of $9M
Annapolis Junction, MD, December 20, 2006 - PROTEUS Technologies, a leader in software and systems engineering services and solutions, is pleased to announce several new strategic business contract wins valued at over $9M dollars. These wins solidify PROTEUS’ reputation as a top-notch engineering services company within the Federal Intelligence and Commercial arenas.
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS), recently awarded PROTEUS a renewed contract to provide software and system engineering services to a Department of Defense (DoD) Government client, where NGMS is the prime contractor. PROTEUS was selected to develop an enterprise-wide multimedia store and forward system. PROTEUS will deliver highly-skilled engineering services utilizing Java, J2EE and Oracle to drive full-lifecycle development software services, from preliminary requirements through design, implementation, test, deployment, and operational support. The enterprise-wide program provides a multimedia data repository for XML metadata and raw data content, with well over 900+ concurrent users and hundreds of thousands of records ingested per day. The system will scale to double in size in the next year.
PROTEUS also secured an award for a competitive DoD contract to provide Red Hat Linux Entitlements and Linux engineering support services. “Partnering with Red Hat provides an excellent opportunity for PROTEUS to support our clients’ needs in Linux and open source solutions, says PROTEUS’ Director of Engineering Services, Mr. Michael Mourelatos. “Red Hat is leading Linux and open source solutions into the mainstream by making high quality, low cost technology accessible. PROTEUS’ outstanding Team of RHCEs and RHCTs (Red Hat Certified Engineers and Technicians) will provide the necessary, in-depth, technical expertise to support the operational mission of their client agency”.
A Federal Government Intelligence agency recently awarded PROTEUS a follow-on contract for software engineering services to provide health and status monitoring (H&SM) for a large government IT program. PROTEUS engineers will design and develop system specific probes and views to show at a glance the overall state of the system and mission. The new capability allows users to drill deep into the mountains of data, and graphically analyze system status and control subsystems. “There is a critical need for robust software that provides this level of customization of status monitoring, particularly in the government arena. It is imperative for systems to provide near real-time, or time sensitive, mission critical data, and remain fully operational 24/7”, stated Mr. James Birchfield, Director of the PROTEUS H&SM Program. “We are encouraged by the visibility and the recognition by the senior Government leadership that our efforts are commanding."
