New Director Named to Post to Help Evangelize Advanced Technologies
Columbia, MD -- October 15, 2004 — PROTEUS Technologies announced today that it has named James Birchfield as the Director of its newly established Systems and Software Engineering Mentor-Protégé program.
The Mentor-Protégé program is an initiative designed to increase the technical health of each and every employee within PROTEUS. "In essence, it's a training tool for all our employees, technical and non-technical alike," stated Mr. Birchfield, co-founder of PROTEUS. The program is designed to meet four major objectives:
"I am very excited about the opportunity to head this program. PROTEUS already boasts an outstanding group of engineers and staff. This program will seek to broaden their current technical skills, while fostering an environment where new skills are more readily acquired and learned," said Birchfield. "Pairing up an experienced engineer with less seasoned ones will provide a fast-track approach to getting them up to speed."
"Mr. Birchfield is outstanding at rapidly learning new java-based technologies and sharing them with his peers," stated Chuck Taylor, Executive Vice President of PROTEUS. "He evangelizes these technologies within the company, his client's project staff, and others within the open source community. The Director position is a natural role for him. We look forward to having him expand our engineering staff's horizons."
