PROTEUS Technologies and Dick's Sporting Goods Partner to Help Sponsor Bulgarian-American Little League Baseball

Sponsorship provides an opportunity for the unification of American and International Little Leaguers to compete while learning critical teaming skills.

Columbia, MD -- March 15, 2004 — PROTEUS Technologies, in partnership with Dick's Sporting Goods (DSG), today announced their corporate sponsorship to help form the Bulgarian-American Little League (BALL). The BALL, registered and recognized by the Williamsport Official Little League, is located in Bulgaria.s Capital of Sofia. The Little League teams consist of American and International children alike, ranging from 5-16 years of age, playing tee ball, coach pitch, regular little league, and junior league.

“When approached with the opportunity to help found and sponsor the BALL, we immediately recognized the importance to give back to the children.” said Chuck Taylor, Executive Vice President of PROTEUS Technologies. ”Having played team sports, I value the competitive and leadership qualities team sports teach children. We are thrilled to help the American and International children living in Sofia develop these skills.”

From its beginnings in 1939 as a 3-team league headquartered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania through its widespread presence today with 3 million participants in over 90 countries, organized Little League Baseball continues to grow in popularity.

“Dick's Sporting Goods was absolutely fantastic,” stated Taylor. “Without hesitation, they rose to the challenge of helping the children, and donated or very deeply discounted much of the little league baseball equipment.” PROTEUS and DSG provided a significant amount of the equipment to help organize and launch the League. Baseballs, bats, gloves/mitts, bases, t-ball stands, apparel, and protective equipment were all part of the care-package shipped to Bulgaria.

Words of appreciation were sent by James Pardew, U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria upon delivery of the surprise gifts. “On behalf of the children who will benefit by your contributions and efforts, I would like to thank all of those involved in the generous donations of much needed baseball equipment to the newly formed Bulgarian American Little League,” stated Pardew.

This donation is the most recent in a regular succession of charitable contributions made by PROTEUS. The company continually seeks to share its good fortune with the World community.
