Executive Vice President Speaks out on Mission, Competencies, Partnerships, and Values at Monthly Luncheon.
Jessup, MD -- September 9, 2004 — PROTEUS Technologies announced today that it has been named the featured ”Small Business of the Month” by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Central Maryland Chapter. The Small Business of the Month is a special designation reserved for small businesses which have been successful contributors to the Mission of the Armed Forces.
PROTEUS Technologies is a privately owned, SBA Certified 8(a) Woman-owned company, founded in 1999 and headquartered in Columbia, Maryland. PROTEUS is a niche software and systems engineering professional services provider of innovative, high-impact solutions for the Federal Government, focusing on four core areas: Distributed and Enterprise computing, Advanced and Scientific Computing (A&SC), Software Process consulting and Web and Application development.
AFCEA is the worldwide association for communications, electronics, intelligence, and information systems professionals. With over 30,000 members from government, industry and the military, AFCEA is a strong organization within the technology community.
”The U.S. Defense Department is counting on small businesses to support its transformation, e-government and homeland security initiatives. Although the military is known for the procurement of large weapons and information technology systems, department acquisition officials recognize that success demands the innovation and support of hundreds of smaller, yet key, firms. Enlisting the expertise of these modest-size businesses enables the department and large companies to provide for the full spectrum of warfighter needs,” said Maryann Lawler of AFCEA's Signal's Magazine.
”This is truly an honor to be recognized by the AFCEA Community and be able to share PROTEUS' vision, values, and technical capabilities with some of the United States' finest Defense contracting firms such as Booz-Allen-Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, CSC, and SAIC. These meetings provide great networking opportunities for AFCEA members,” stated Dr. Charles Taylor, Executive Vice President of PROTEUS Technologies. Attendees at the regular luncheons often discuss the most recent technological advances, their application, and new business opportunities on the horizon. ”We're confident that our presentation will open new doors for us. We look forward to new partnership opportunities being created from this great exposure,” proclaims Taylor.
On September 23rd, Dr. Taylor will speak at the monthly luncheon of AFCEA's Central Maryland Chapter. His presentation will focus on Proteus' mission, its core technical capabilities, exceptional staff, partnerships, and its values. ”At Proteus, 82% of our workforce hold Masters degrees or higher in an engineering curriculum, and 92% of all our technical tasks entail Proteus holding the key technical leadership position. I'm extremely proud of our highly skilled software and system engineering Teams. It's critically important to our long-term success to continue to bring great value by providing innovative, high-impact solutions to our client's mission. We're successful because of our remarkable employees and our dedication to our customer's mission. Our partnership philosophy encompasses a mutual understanding, respect, and dedication to one another's missions ... we own our customer's objectives and problems,” stated Proteus' President/CEO, Teresa Taylor.
